Made With 85% Organic Ingredients.

Brand:
Neal's Yard Remedies
Range:
English Lavender
Directions:
  1. Wet hair with warm water, apply shampoo sparingly and work into a low lather.
  2. Rinse thoroughly and repeat as necessary.
  3. For best results, follow with Nourishing Lavender Conditioner.

Tips on cleansing:
Warmth will help open the cuticle of the hair shaft to facilitate cleansing of any oils of substances trapped beneath, but avoid using hot water as it will dry the scalp and hair.

The ideal temperature would be just gently warm on the skin. Concentrate on massaging the scalp, the massage effect will also help stimulate the revitalizing blood flow within the skin as well as remove any dead skin cells or surface impurities.

Rinse thoroughly with warm water, ensuring that the scalp is left clean and that the product has been rinsed through the lengths of the hair.

For best results, give your hair a cold rinse to finish. Not only will it close the hair shaft (resulting in more shine) it will help to constrict the sebaceous glands to help moderate sebum production.

Worst product I’ve ever bought

This ‘shampoo’ is not fit for purpose. It is described as being for fine flyaway hair; however it is a thick oily concoction which had the effect of making my fine hair greasy & lank and looking as though I hadn’t washed it for a month. I may as well have poured a couple of tablespoonfuls of cooking oil over my head! Like others, I thought it must have been wrongly labelled and was actually a hair conditioner or body lotion. I cannot believe that, despite all the poor reviews over several years, this is still on sale and that the standard response from NYR is still being rolled out. I can only think that those who recommend the product must have very thick, wiry and dry hair & scalp - not the hair type it is being sold as suitable for. Not wanting to waste the not inconsiderable amount of money I’d spent on this product, rather than throw it away, I decided to try it as a skin softener in my bath and it worked a treat! I am normally a great fan of Neal's Yard Remedies as I love the gorgeous old-fashioned scents and blue packaging which is why I was so disappointed with this shampoo

Oily hair after a few weeks

I liked this at first and I love the smell, but after a while my hair was feeling really greasy and it wasn't cleaning my scalp properly. I've tried a lot of natural shampoos. I'm loving the new one from Awake Organics. I don't like the plastic either

***

The shampoo and conditioner are effective, but as has been mentioned in reviews many times before the bottle does not allow easy use, so hard to get the shampoo and conditioner out of bottles. It would appear this has not been addressed for many years. How about selling these products in eco friendly pump dispenser?

Disappointed

Difficult to get out of the bottle, can’t assess how much left in the bottle, need to use large quantity to get thr my hair but it is only shoulder length, too expensive for what it is! Will not recommend this product, same for conditioner

Left hair greasy and feeling unclean.

Really disappointed with this. I have fine and fairly flat hair, so thought this might be just the thing I would need for some lightness and volume. But no. I knew it wouldn’t lather well, tried not to use too much product, but have been left with hair looking greasier than I started with. When rinsing, it doesn’t feel like your hair is clean like usual shampoos do. It still feels as if there is a layer on the hair and no amount of rubbing gets it out

Difficult to use

It is almost impossible to get out of the bottle. It should really have a pump as it is very frustrating when you are in a hurry. Also, I expected it to be low lather, but it is so low that I couldn’t work it through my hair (which is only shoulder length and not very thick) and ended up using loads. I live in a hard water area, so maybe that doesn’t help. I love Neal’s Yard products, but this is extremely disappointing

Good shampoo but very difficult to get the shampoo out of the bottle

This seems like a lovely product but the packaging is terrible. Its so difficult to actually get it out of the bottle - the conditioner is the same. Sadly for this reason I won't be repurchasing. Looking back at previous comments I see I'm not the only one with this problem. Wake up NY & listen to your customers!

My hair is in the best condition ever but product is very hard to use

I have used this shampoo and the conditioner for a few months now, I have fine curly hair and my hair condition has never been better. I can't use foaming agents on my curly hair and I have a very sensitive scalp too so l can't use normal shampoos. For people who are saying that it's not a shampoo, it is different, it is an oil based formula, it's almost like a pre-poo, in fact I stopped pre-pooing when I started to use this as there was no need to. The conditioner I would say is more stripping/cleansing, it washes the oily 'shampoo' out. This is my experience anyway. For people who are used to using a foaming shampoo and then finishing with a conditioner, it may be strange to you. Curly haired people are familiar with adding moisture before cleansing and that is what this 'shampoo' and the conditioner that goes with it does. Despite my hair being in the best condition I'm afraid the down side is that it is very hard to use. I find it very hard, time consuming and use a lot of product to get it to spread around my scalp. I also have to wash my hair more regularly than ever as it gets greasy very quickly. I used to go 3 or 4 days between washes but using this my hair needs to be washed every other day

Very disappointing

I like Neal's Yard products usually but really don't like this shampoo. I have the fine hair for which it is intended but it made my hair flat. It talks about a 'rich lather' - what lather? It does nothing when I put it on my hair. Waste of my money - it's going in the bin

bottle

Shampoo's lovely. Plastic bottle is a disappointment for environmental reasons but also because it's very difficult to get to the product without disassembling the whole thing!
