Withania somnifera

An Ayurvedic herb said to give you the strength and vigour of a horse.

A natural adaptogen, Ashwagandha is known for its ability to calm the nerves, ease anxiety and aid sleep.

Studies have shown that Ashwagandha works like the amino acid GABA (naturally found in the brain) calming the nerves and promoting sleep.

Add to hot chocolate, desserts, smoothies, porridge or superfood 'buzz' balls.  Add to hot almond milk (or other) milk, infused with honey and rosewater for a delicious night time drink.

Top Tip: Try adding it to a homemade energy snack, breakfast smoothie or healthy hot cocoa.

Caution: Do not use in acute conditions or during pregnancy.

it works

I add a spoonful of ashwaghanda into my green powder juice every day and mix with water. It doesn't blend or dissolve very well, but I swear by Ashwaghanda to calm the nerves and take the edge of day to day life. Stops the overthinking :-)

Ashwaganda powder helps me to have a great nights sleep and to calm my thoughts if I have a lot on .
It’s lovely with oat milk, rose water and a little bit of honey.
