As a founding partner of charity and nature skills platform, Earthed, we’re thrilled to share their latest online course ‘Activating your Activism: Planting Seeds for Change’ with you.

We’ve partnered with Earthed to create this course, which demonstrates how acting with purpose in your community can contribute not only to the wellbeing of the individuals within that community, but the wellbeing of the planet, too. Led by Tayshan Hayden-Smith, founder of not-for-profit organisation Grow to Know, the course explores his six years of activism following the Grenfell Tower tragedy and how the healing power of nature has helped his own mental wellbeing, as well as that of the community and its natural habitats. Filled with insights on the challenges and wisdom gleaned from his journey, this powerful course will show you how to begin your own journey of activism, building resilient and diverse environmental movements in your community.

Read on to find out how we’ve been working with both Grow to Know and Earthed to further our shared mission to nurture and protect our planet and its people, and enjoy an exclusive special offer at the end of the blog.

NATURE-BASED COMMUNITY WORK WITH GROW TO KNOW

We’ve been working in partnership with Tayshan Hayden-Smith, founder of London-based collective Grow to Know, since last year – encouraging our customers to bring nature into their homes, gardens and local communities. Grow to Know believes everyone should have access to a green space, and regreening and beautifying disused urban spaces makes up a significant part of what they do.

With that in mind, we worked with members of the community and Grow to Know in North Kensington in August 2023, transforming an underused urban space into a pollinator-friendly garden to be enjoyed by residents and visitors. In addition to our planting efforts, we donated some of our own homegrown, pollinator-friendly plants from our Dorset-based eco-factory.

Not stopping there, we continued to support Grow to Know with our 2023 Christmas campaign, donating 5% of the sales from our 12 Days of Beauty & Wellbeing calendar. Thanks to you, we’ve raised £10,000 in total for their work bringing nature into urban communities.
