Great for fine hair
By Weeble from Staffordshire on 14/09/2017

I have been using this conditioner for several years now together with the matching shampoo. I have to say I find the product is perfect for my fine, short, coloured hair. It conditions my hair to just the right level without leaving it heavy and limp. The end result is when I blow dry it and style it, it leaves it full of body, shiny and enhances the colour of my hair. it looks healthy, vibrant and full of life.

This conditioner (and shampoo) just doesn't work! I have now read some of the reviews and understand that Neal's Yard AIM for it to be non-foaming, but how can it possibly leave the hair 'lustrous and manageable, from root to tip' if you can't run your fingers through it - let alone a comb! I keep trying with my bottle as it was meant to be an expensive treat - but it just feels like I am putting paint stripper on my hair! Sadly, I bought this before boarding my flight back to Australia, so I can hardly take it back!...Response from NYR on 26.07.17 'We’re really sorry to hear of your disappointment with our Lavender Shampoo and Conditioner. Please do contact us if you would like to discuss this further on The shampoo has been formulated to be natural and organic and the amount of added foaming agents has been greatly reduced to maximise the organic status of the shampoo. The formula contains 70% organic plant oils and uses a minimal level of detergents and works in conjunction with the skin and hair's natural processes by utilising oils to cleanse and protect the hair shaft. It is also rich in essential fatty acids, which works by bringing nourishment to both the hair and scalp.'

Great for irritated scalp
By Judim from Norfolk on 03/06/2017

Having read reviews for the lavender hair care, I was only persuaded by a friend to try this shampoo and conditioner. I have fine thin hair and use the conditioner as a scalp mask before shampooing. It calmed the redness and itching. I feel that my hair and scalp are not drying out, but my fine hair still has a bounce to it and not drowned in oil. I do understand that if people want more foaming agent, this may not be the shampoo for them, but I am really happy that NYR are providing an alternative to other "natural" shampoos that seem to compensate for the lack of sulfates with other foaming ingredients that irritate my scalp.

Love it.
By Alexjoon from Athens on 26/03/2017

I have very fine, very long hair. I have been using the Lavender Conditioner for a couple of years now, and I'm very happy with it. I noticed some people think that it is hard to work through their hair. I always work a dab between my wet fingers for a few seconds, before I work it into my hair. B.t.w, I'm over 60, I've used a lot of conditioner over the years, this is one of the best, and I love the scent.

Is this even shampoo?
By HannahJ from Kent on 22/03/2017

This shampoo is the worst I've ever used, it's more like body lotion and does not lather at all. The conditioner is just the same and can barely be worked through the hair. This is the first time I've tried NY products and will stick to Lush in future. A complete waste of money! So dissapointed...Response from NYR on 23.03.17 'Please do contact us regarding the product, so that we can find a suitable one for your hair – our lavender shampoo is a low-foam shampoo and we have others that will suit your hair type.'

Very disappointing
By Denise from Guildford on 21/03/2017

I have already commented on the nourishing lavender shampoo and the same problems apply to the conditioner. The other problem I had with the conditioner is that after using a conditioner I would expect my hair to be easy to comb through but with this conditioner my hair is tangled, not at all smooth and very difficult to comb. As with the shampoo I have reluctantly thrown it away and am annoyed at the amount it cost and was not usable...Response from NYR on 23.03.17 'Please do contact us regarding the product, so that we can find a suitable one for your hair – our lavender shampoo is a low-foam shampoo and we have others that will suit your hair type.'

Really great for kids hair
By Julianne from Nottingham on 01/12/2016

I love this conditioner, my kids have very fine hair and it's perfect. Most conditioners weigh their hair down and make it look greasy, but this one is just right and smells lovely. I wish I could afford it for my own hair!

I have Fine hair, not Thin hair
By cloggy1 from London on 28/11/2016

Smells gorgeous but I have fine hair, A LOT of it. I have used this three thimes and almost finished the bottle because, as oter reviews have said, it is so difficult to get through the hair. And then it's really hard to rinse. Sadly disappointed...Response from NYR on 30.11.16 'We’re sorry to hear that the lavender conditioner is a disappointment to you. Please do contact us to discuss how we can help you further. Our email address is'

Very Disappointed
By mth from Birmingham on 21/05/2016

I regularly buy Neals Yard products and have always been very happy to recommend to everyone. Both the Shampoo and Conditioner are very hard work to use and in my opinion not suited to fine hair as you suggest. These are quite expensive and I feel I have wasted my money and will not buy these again. The rose skincare I love and will continue to buy...NYR response on 24/05/16: We’re happy to hear that you are enjoying the Rose range, but sorry to hear that the shampoo and conditioner are not suitable for your hair. Please do contact us at so that we can help you further.

After washing with the Lavender shampoo I followed with the Lavender Conditioner. I was disappointed with the results, It was difficult to work through my hair and after rinsing, it was tangled and knotted. Not what I would expect from a Conditioner.

quality conditioner
By piglet from norwich, United Kingdom on 02/06/2015

I have very fine hair and found both the conditioner and shampoo really does give volume. It is so nice to find products without nasty ingredients, and not tested on animals which is very important.nI will say if you want a conditioner for detangling fine hair this one dosen't do that.
