I have recently started using the create your own h&b wash and mix it with oils to cleanse and clarify my hair. My hair is very curly and naturally dry and I have been searching for a product that has no chemicals added. I have only used the product once and have instantly felt my scalp, hair and skin benefit from the natural ingredients. I also use egg and coconut oil to cleanse and replenish the natural oils, most of the commercial brands are full of harsh chemicals and I don't understand how public health directors/protection officers/management allow products to be made i.e sold in retail outlets.
This is absolutely brilliantly amazing and I cannot praise this product enough. I am very intolerant of most products and sadly, expect that anything this "user friendly" will not work as well as the usual stuff. Not so with this. I use it in the shower, as a hand wash and as a shampoo - it works for everything. In the shower I use a couple of pumps on my sponge - it's lovely to use, quite soapy enough and my skin is much less dry than it was previously. My hair has never felt in better condition and has gone from like rat tails to feeling thick, bouncy and full of life (and I'm at the age where it's starting to feel thin anyway so this is a real bonus). I find it doesn't make much lather, but I wash it twice and it cleans my hair beautifully. I agree that it's quite thick, but this just makes it incredibly economical because you only need a small amount. I've added a pump to mine and it's now much easier to use. I haven't added anything such as oils etc to it because according to the label it shortens the shelf life and in any case, I want to use it because it's completely fragrance free. I have also started using the Face & Body Lotion in the same range and that works brilliantly as well. Well done Neal's Yard - I am delighted to have found this range and you are to be congratulated on making such excellent products. Please, please never discontinue any of these products - can you extend the range?
I use a 20p amount for my thick curly hair and it feels so smooth and clean! rnSmall amount mixed with a massage oil blend I had and it works a treat! A little goes a long way even when used on its own.
This is the best shampoo i have ever used. I add some of the essential oils such as Rosemary ,and it's so gentle to hair as well as very effective. I have no more itchy scalp. And sulphate free,it's really good. Im very impressed with NYR Create Your Own range, and I dont understand why I cant buy all the products in this range from your independent consultants. It doesnt make sense as they are very good products and they are popular amongst the people who are into aromatherapy and using the essential oils.
I use this alone as facial wash, it works so well. My skin tend to have some little bumps around my cheeks with other cleanser which I thought they were pimples. But with this, no more those unknown tiny bits under my skin, they totally disappeared!rnrnI also found that, after using this as cleanser, my face oil/cream can fully absorbed into my skin, make my face looking fresh and glow. And it balances my t-zone well, no more shiny t-zone for one whole day and overnight! LOVE LOVE LOVE!
I have been using this versatile product for the past few years. I like to add a few drops of grapefruit oil (or other oils) but sometimes I use it as it is. I don't know why it isn't marketed as a face wash too, as it works so well, has great ingredients ,& doesn't irritate my sensitive, temperamental skin. It's one of the finest 'face' washes out there!
I put tea tree and lemon in this, and also in the bath oil one. It is a good idea, but I would say that making your own shower gels would turn out to be really quite expensive since you have to buy all of the oils, and find a good blend etc. I did however like this shower gel, and I did like the lemon and tea tree that I made with it
This is a great product, I'm allergic to fragrances & balsam of Peru and this is the only shampoo I've found that I'm not allergic to. Although you can, I don't add anything to it, it works great on its own.
As I cannot use anything fragranced in the bath I tried this and was delighted. It leaves my skin baby soft! I use it on the kids too and its so kind to their skin. I also have itchy irritaed scalp but after washing my hair with this I found it settled it down. Thanks Neals Yard I love your products and they are cruelty free which is a real bonus x
I was recommend to try the Create your Own hair & body wash by two lovely ladies who work in the Central Arcade store in Newcastle. I have tried many products to treat my scalp which is dry and flaky and which was described by the Doctor as cradle cap. The ladies in the store had mentioned my scalp problem could be caused by SLS in shampoo's and conditioners and recommended I try a fragrance free product for my hair because of the sensitivity I was experiencing. nI have been using the hair and body wash since the start of the year and use it 2-3 times a week. Most shampoo's I had tried in the past would leave a residue on my hair or would be difficult to rinse out. This hair and body wash is easy to rinse out and doesn't leave any residue behind and it doesn't dry out my hair. It foams up really well on my thick wavy hair and will probably last about 2 months which is a lot longer than other shampoo's I have used in the past. It leaves my hair feeling clean and never stripped and shiny. I use it alongside the Rosemary and Cedarwood hair treatment. If I was going on holiday I only need to take the one bottle to use on my hair and body which is great when it comes to baggage allowance.
This is the only shower gel I have ever found (and I have tried hundreds), which I do not react to, I would not use anything else on my skin now. It is quite a thick mixture so I tend to add just a bit of water to the mix to make it easier to use as a shower gel.
