Too sticky and oily

1

I wanted to love this moisturiser but sadly I really don’t. It is very thick and has a sticky and oily residue. It doesn’t sink in very well and leaves a horrible smell which I think maybe the zinc oxide. So disappointed as it was an expensive purchase.

Disappointing SPF

2

I was rather disappointed with this product despite generally loving the Neals Yard skincare range. It has a strong smell that feels too much for a daily SPF moisturiser, and a white chalky texture to the SPF that left my face looking pale even after I'd rubbed it in. It also gave me spots, which other more lightweight SPFs don't.

Really disappointed, no sun protection at all

1

My husband bought me this along with a few other things for my birthday. I have relatively fair skin and body sun cream can be oily and not sit well on the face. The cream was quite separated when I opened it, with an oily layer. I have it a good shake and manipulated the bottle and it seemed well mixed. I applied a generous layer 30 minutes before going out and topped up a couple of hours later, I was out for around 3 hours, but in shade for some of this time and it was around 18/19 degrees, this is in the UK. My face is really sun burnt, more so than I think it has ever been, my skin is bright red and very sore. I won't be able to continue to use this and couldn't in all good conscience pass it on to someone else. Also do not put the vitamin E and avocado night cream on sore skin, it was like salt in the wound!

Really moisturising!

5

This SPF moisturiser is lovely! Some people have mentioned a white tint on the face after using, but this disappears if you rub it in. I like to not rub it in too much, because it gives your skin a highlighted effect, I have had face primers that are similar. If you have red checks, like myself this works great. It does not irritate my skin. Really nice!

I wish I had read the reviews!

Oh how I wish I had read the reviews - what an expensive disappointment! Within a minute of applying, my eyes are smarting and I’m getting a headache (I rarely get headaches ) It feels greasy and my face is shiny !

The worst sunscreen

1

I’m a fan of Neal’s Yards, and I’m very disappointed with this product. When I first got it, the cream was split and all of the oil just leaked out. I contacted the customer service and after a long waiting they said it’s ok to use just massage the bottle. I did a bit of research and found out that if SPF products split, you should throw them away. Regardless, I tried the product! Why not? I got blocked pores and spots just after the first use. It’s very greasy on your skin and totally waste of £25!

Amazing, great-smelling sunblock

4

I'm so glad this product is back! I have extremely pale skin and struggle to find a face sunscreen that gives enough protection - regular body sunscreen is horrible on the face! The Zinc content creates a barrier and I've never burnt (indeed barely caught the sun at all!) whilst using this and it seems somewhat sweat-resistant, even on the nose - and I've tested it in 40 degree heat in Malta too! As some other reviewers have said, it can have a whitening effect, as it's a zinc-based sunscreen. I overcome this by using sparingly (a little goes a very long way) and working it in well. If I still feel like I look a bit pale, I just pop on some tinted moisturiser to compensate! On that note, it's also a great primer for makeup!

So soft & velvety

This is so rich & lovely...It keeps my face hydrated all day & protected from the sun. I have fair skin & I spend everyday outdoors as a postie & this has kept my skin protected from the sun’s rays! It’s a god send!!!

Very disappointed

1

I’ve used and loved Neals Yard projects for such a long time but unfortunately I’m hugely disappointed with this. It really blocked my pores and I can feel it on my skin all day. It leaves a white layer and dries my skin. It does smell lovely but that’s the only good thing. Definitely not worth the money!
