Dr Kirsten Kitson is a Counselling Psychologist drawing on training in a range of therapeutic approaches including: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Person-Centred and Psychodynamic Therapy; working from a relational stance. Kirsten has worked with adults and adolescents in a variety of settings including the NHS, HM Prison service and in the voluntary sector. This has involved the short, medium and long-term treatment of problems of varying severity. Kirsten has specialised in substance misuse, eating disorders, depression and anxiety disorders, but also works with a wide range of presenting problems.
Thursdays: 6pm-9.30pm. Other times by arrangement
Kirsten Kitson holds a doctorate in Counselling Psychology. She also has honour degrees in both Psychology and Criminology & Fine art. She is chartered by the British Psychological Society (BPS) and holds full membership to the BPS division of Counselling Psychology. She is registered with the Health Professions Council (HPC), a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and is currently working towards accreditation with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy (BABCP).
