Joanna is an experienced counsellor and CBT therapist and has been working in mental health for over 9 years with various client groups. She has previously worked in the therapeutic community, for charity counselling services, for a GP surgery and for a University Counselling Service. As well as working in private practice, Joanna is also a CBT therapist in the NHS and is accredited by the British Association for Behavioural & Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP).
Joanna offers one-to-one sessions where she creates an accepting and non-judgmental atmosphere where you can explore your difficulties and concerns in a safe place. She engages with her clients on an equal level, and works together with them towards personal growth, life-changes or acceptance of what cannot be changed.
Joanna endeavors to keep her skills and knowledge updated through attending various training courses, seminars and workshops. She is also keen to read relevant articles and books to increase her knowledge and keep up to date with advances in mental health care and psychological interventions.
