Protecting vulnerable species

We source our Sandalwood (Santalum album) from Australia. Here, the luxurious essential oil is extracted from trees grown in sustainably managed plantations. Due to its high value and demand, in the past Sandalwood has been exploited to the verge of extinction. After years of searching for a sustainable source, we’re delighted to have secured a sustainable supply of Sandalwood (Santalum album).

Bath & Shower

The essential oil is inhaled through the aromatic steam, as well as being absorbed by the skin. For adults, add up to 5 drops in 2 tbsp bath oil, shower gel, or carrier oil. For children over 2 years old or adults with sensitive skin, reduce the amount to up to 2 drops per 2 tbsp. Not suitable for children under two years old.

Inhalation

This technique helps to clear your head and nose. For adults, add 4–6 drops to a bowl of steaming water, pace a towel over your head and breathe. Children over 2 years old, adults with sensitive skin and asthmatics should not inhale directly. Instead, place the bowl of hot water with added oils in the room nearby. Not suitable for children under two years old.

Massages

Relaxes your body and mind while helping to soothe aching muscles. For adults, use up to 7 drops in 1 tbsp of base oil. For children over 2 years old or adults with sensitive skin, use up to 3 drops in 1 tbsp of base oil. Not suitable for children under two years old.

Decanting Issues

Many need to heat the bottle up in a jug of hot water. The fragrance comes alive once warmed. It is even better breezing out of Neal's Yards own diffuser.
Yes, these oils are expensive and so is the equipment.
I have tried the competitor's that are much cheaper and they are cheap for a reason.
I have a hypersensitive nose and taste buds.
I use no more than a drop and I use a humidifier to moisten the air.
Nothing comes close to filling my whole home on both floors.
I have spent thousands on Neal's Yard Remedies for myself and my family. My cousin ran a catalogue for them and she made quite a bit of money. I did get a few freebies and gave them away.
I am still using Neal's Yard because I haven't quite exhausted the collection.
I am putting together another order.
I think like many other reviews some people are not as sensitive to certain fragrances or they have misunderstood how to get the best out of their purchases.
I have their books too which also help to glean out the most of their products.
I am self-taught in Acupressure and Aromatherapy.
Neal's Yard Remedies are not for those that are dabbling, try their competitors instead and when you're ready to take it seriously.
Break out the champagne and congratulate yourself.

Sandalwood essential oil

This is one of my favourite scents. It has anti inflammatory properties and can calm rosacea when diluted. I love to add a few drops to an infuser to calm a room. Gorgeous.

slightly deceitful packaging

I noted £54 for 2.5 mls. Then the NY employee encouraged me to bring in/buy a bottle of 10ml base oil and in that dissolve "drops" of Sandalwood. When I asked "what size drops" she pretended that there is only one size drop. She asked for 1 pound per drop (of her imaginary single size). Is this even allowed by NY? And can we not speak in terms of weight, since "drop" is not a unit of measure and varies so much with viscosity? (so that someone paying 1 pound per non-viscous drop (achieved by warming by hand), pays a great deal more that someone paying the same for a viscous drop. Really NY, how is this ethical?
