ingredient change ~ doesn’t last nearly as long
3This has been my go-to oil post bath for my son since birth. I loved the original formula as it was a hard ball which earned to a silky oil in the palms and a little spread a long way and left the skin feeling velvety by morning. This is my 3rd purchase and seem to have received the new formula; now a softer white consistency. You need a lot more per application and it doesn’t spread or massage as nicely. Be surprised if this lasted a week which makes for a very expensive product. Saddened I will have to find an alternative as this will no longer be financially sustainable
Report this reviewWhat a pity you swapped the olive oil for sunflower...
3Used to be fabulous... wonderful for people with very sensitive skins/skin problems... but why oh why change a very good product - it used to smell very nice indeed too, with olive oil as the main ingredient. Please rethink... or produce an alternative to the original formula... organic olive oil is easily available, surely?

2I can’t believe it - how could you go and change the formula! I’ve been buying this for years because it is so marvellous and now I’ve finished my supply and find you have changed it. The texture is different and it’s really not like the same product. Your intention may have been good but you’ve messed up in my view and I’ll either swap to an olive oil balm that Waitrose do (and much cheaper) or have a go at making my own

1I have been reading the comments from people on this product as my daughter has been using Neals Yard products for about a year now and it has helped her daughter's skin but I am concerned with the new change. Your stock phrase appears to be that you changed to Sunflower oil because of its linoleic acid content. You also state that most people are happy with the change but if you care to look at the comments on here you will see that the negative and unhappy comments far outweigh the positive comments on this change. If you were sensible you would reformulate and return to your previous product. I just hope my granddaughters skin doesn't suffer at the new change

1Very disappointed with this product. Had been recommended to try it for my eczema but it has made no difference. It is a very oily consistency which feels horrible on the skin. I think it is very overpriced when I could just rub sunflower oil on my skin for the same effect. Maybe the original formula was better
Report this reviewBaby Balm
2I used baby balm, not for baby but for vaginal dryness, and it was great until they changed the formula. Not only is it made with sunflower oil rather than olive oil, but I think there is more coconut which is grainy until it dissolves. When it does dissolve, the balm is more of an oil than a balm. I have written to the company and they suggest I buy the constituent products and make my own... but what a pain and an expense when baby balm was a perfectly good, in fact brilliant, product until they messed with it. To Neals Yard customer care - why are you not listening to devoted customers and re-evaluating the changes to this product?!
Report this reviewWhy, oh why, have you messed around with it??!!
1Your baby balm was excellent, amazing stuff. Why did you have to ruin it? Please revert to your old recipe it was marvellous. Sunflower oil is cheaper, your reason doesn't stand up. You've lost another customer because of this. :-(
Report this reviewDreadful product, not suitable for a baby's delicate skin
1I bought this product based on the fact that it is made with only a few organic ingredients, plus the sale assistant told me it was super delicate and sells really well... Well, my baby's skin turned red with a rash within minutes and although I tried to wash it off immediately, it is still red and now dry even after days of using it. I've returned the product to the shop... enough said!

1This was my daughters daily must-have until you went and replaced the olive oil with sunflower oil...! She is allergic to sunflower oil which means we will now have to return the supplies we had bought unknowingly and find something else. Absolutely gutted!

1Tried this on my own hand before putting on my baby - it felt like it burned my skin. It made the skin red and caused tingling. I had to wash it off immediately. I would not use this on my baby after that. I have since heard this from other people. Sorry NYR - I think you’ve got this one wrong. AVOID
