Julie gained her Herbal Medicine degree with the College of Phytotherapy and is a member of The National Institute of Medical Herbalists (NIMH). She started working for Neal’s Yard Remedies in 2003 when she made the tinctures at their herb garden at Springhead, Dorset. Since then she has worked with the Customer Care team as a Herbal Advisor on their advice line. She has also answered queries from the public on behalf of NIMH.
Julie is interested in the roots of plant medicine and the ancient traditions. She has volunteered at the historic site of Shaftesbury Abbey, developing their Anglo-Saxon herb garden and leading herbal walks and talks for over 15 years. Last summer she ran a series of popular herbal medicine and plant spirit workshops at her Garden Room, set in her own semi-wild medicinal herb garden. She has also been helping with the development of a herbal labyrinth project. Julie says, “I work with plants in many ways, using them in my healing practice but also creating a deeper communication between plants, people and the spirit of our land.”.
