Sophie first qualified in Holistic Massage in 2006, after years in the publishing industry. She trained with the highly regarded Clare Maxwell-Hudson. Once qualifying in Holistic Massage she soon realised that many people not only need a relaxing treatment, but also seek help in reducing pain and often have injuries that benefit from treatment. This lead her to completing the BTEC level 4 Sports Injuries and Massage qualification in 2007.
With many of her friends and family having babies she then embarked on a APNT Pregnancy Massage Course in 2009 and following that a Postnatal Massage diploma.
In 2011/12 she completed a Neal's Yard Remedies Indian Head Massage Diploma. This is a fantastic treatment for reducing stress, headaches and insomnia amongst other benefits and can be done sitting up.
She says, "Through my studies and life experience I appreciate the demands on the body and the mind. Massage is often seen as a relaxation tool, but it is so much more than that. It can alleviate acute and chronic injuries and make you more aware of your body for long term health. It is also a lovely way to bond with the baby and speed up recovery post birth. We all give cars a
service, so why shouldn't we treat our bodies in the same way and regularly maintain it with massage. Each treatment is tailored to the client's individual needs.
I love seeing the difference in a client from start to finish after each treatment and get tremendous satisfaction from seeing clients health and well-being improve over a course of treatments."
