Indian Head Massage

An innovative, exciting two-day course created to give you an additional qualification to add to your practice. At Neal's Yard Remedies, our main aim is to give you a holistic, unique and traditional training that also incorporates the energetic aspect of this powerful treatment. This course is taught by Elaine Tomkins our Head of Massage for our Aromatherapy Diploma, and Introduction to Massage courses.
Indian Head Massage has been practiced in India for thousands of years. Also known as Champissage, it works on the scalp, face, neck and upper shoulder areas of the body and is highly effective at releasing the symptoms of tension, headaches, insomnia and improving the condition of the hair. The treatment is typically performed with the client seated and lasts for 30 minutes.

- Introduction to history of Indian Head Massage
- Contraindications for the treatment
- Skin and scalp conditions
- Re-cap of anatomy and physiology
- Practical - Indian Head massage with and without oil
- Exploring the chakras and marma points related to treatment

This course takes place in our School of Natural Health, Neal's Yard, Covent Garden.
