Ear Candling

A gentle healing technique to treat symptoms of the ear, nose and throat.

This is an effective, non-invasive means of treating a variety of ear, nose and throat conditions. As the candles burn they create a vapour infused with therapeutic herbs and essential oils. Their tube shape creates a chimney effect, drawing away the vapour and any impurities from the ear. Gentle heat from the candle stimulates the blood and lymph circulation, boosting the immune system and regulating pressure within your sinuses.

Ear Candle treatment has been used as an alternative to syringing to remove excess wax from the ears. It's also used as a means to equalise pressure in the ears in the case of sinusitis, glue ear, colds, flu, catarrh, tonsillitis, headaches and migraines. The treatment also stimulates energy flow and may help reduce ringing in the ear. Seeing a qualified practitioner gives you the opportunity to discuss your condition with a professional with years of training and experience.

After taking a medical history and checking your ears for infections, your practitioner will ask you to lie on your side. They'll then place a candle gently in your ear. Once it's alight, you'll hear a crackling sound and experience a warming sensation. The first candle will be removed and the treatment repeated in your other ear. Most people require between one and three sessions.
