Writing, editing and proofreading copy for all areas of the business, including catalogues, NPD, Ecomms, marketing promotions, in-store posters, point of sale, web, product naming, and pack copy with support from the Head of Marketing. Additionally, the Copywriter will play a key role in maintaining the Copy Library, and liaising with internal regulatory advisors and legal team to ensure compliance of all copy with ASA, and other regional regulatory bodies.


  • Produce copy for all areas of the business, including catalogue, in-store posters and point of sale, promotions and web copy
  • Create brand messages that include: product benefits, ingredients stories and ethical values

Project Manager

Full Time: - 35 Hours - Permanent
Location: Peacemarsh, Dorset


Responsible for the management cross-functionally of NPD projects from Brand team handover through to delivery into warehouse.

Development of Business Case for all HCM projects initiated by Brand or Ops teams, with responsibility for full project management cross-functionally from initiation through to delivery into warehouse.

Development, collation and completion of essential product documentation and system updates to maintain up to date and on time information on new launches and HCM changes.


NPD Projects:

  • Assist in the creation of critical paths for all new projects, using existing systems software, to ensure sufficient durations within the key project stages to allow for timely completion of tasks. Durations will flex according to type of project undertaken.
  • Following business sign off at Gate 3 with approval to proceed with project, receive handover from brand team to implement through to in warehouse, in line with agreed launch date.
  • Ensure adherence to financial and project targets set out in Gate 3 e.g. product costs, development costs, quality.
  • Completion of all relevant documentation and systems updates, including Gate 4 (Ready to Launch), artwork briefing and approval, Change Notes, and BOMs.
  • Maintenance of project Critical Path (CPA) after Gate 3, alerting stakeholders where risk of delay to launch.
  • Organise and document the outcomes arising from, the weekly Project Delivery meetings ensuring attendance from cross-functional Brand and Ops team. Monitor actions agreed to ensure adherence to CPA. Develop status report using RAG approach.

HCM Projects:

  • Develop project proposal form collating from project sponsor and all related departments (Gate 1), to include commercial and operational evaluation of proposal.
  • Submitting Gate 1 HCM project for approval at NPD Steering Committee with the Executive team, ensuring that no other work is commenced until approval is obtained.
  • Preparation and publication of CPA for each HCM project. Management and monitoring of expected changeover dates, in coordination with Discontinuations Manager.
  • Coordination of all required changes to artwork, BOMs, Change notes on SAGE, etc. ensuring that all stakeholders are aware of timings and requirements.
  • Develop HCM projects status report using RAG approach, for updating at weekly Product Delivery meeting.
  • Monitor risks to projects, including delay in timing, cost increases, development cost increases, and any other significant variance from the Gate 1 approval, re-presenting a revised Gate paper to the NPD Steering Committee for re-approval if required.


  • Provide weekly updates arising from the Product Delivery meeting to the business, highlighting recent NPD and HCM approvals, RAG status and risks to delivery.
  • Be the 'Go-To' person on each project in the 'Implementation' phase for all stakeholders across the business.

Junior Web Developer

We are currently looking for someone to join our established, dynamic and high performing Digital Team here in Peacemarsh, Dorset, supporting and assisting our Lead Web Developer and UX Designer in delivering ongoing projects alongside daily duties.

The main focus of this role is to deliver the development roadmap for the Neal's Yard Remedies website. Supporting and assisting our Lead Web Developer, you will have a good understanding of web technologies and a passion for solving problems. Producing high quality work for the ecommerce platform, QA testing and liaising with our external development agency will be key parts of the role.

As part of the wider digital team, supporting ecommerce, digital marketing and development activity with administrative tasks and data management will also be part of the role.


  • Support the company's existing external and internal web platforms.
  • Use expert knowledge of relevant technologies to design and develop dynamic web sites, web interfaces & forms throughout the business.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders in the business to ensure that web systems deliver business requirements.
  • Assist in administering the monthly code releases and track/gather feedback for the work tickets through our development partners support desk.

Process Chemist

Neal’s Yard Remedies is a manufacturer and retailer of natural toiletries and natural medicines. The company headquarter is located at Peacemarsh, Gillingham in Dorset. It is the location for head office functions of Sales, Finance, Human Resources, Customer Services and the factory, with the Production functions and R&D Laboratory.

The position of Process chemist will be based in the Research & Development Department and part of the wider Product Development Team.

  • The Process chemist will develop and be responsible for implementing a scale-up/pilot facility and all processes/procedures related, including implementation of robust manufacturing methods and product specs
  • The Process chemist is responsible for ensuring consistency between laboratory development formulations and scaled up bulk and factory filled formulations.
  • The Process chemist will work within the Product Development Team to ensure new products briefed are feasible at a production level.
  • The Process chemist will advise the Product Development Team and Manufacturing on all matters related to processing, including pieces of equipment
  • The Process chemist will work with Formulations Manager to develop a culture of “don’t do it at the bench if it cannot be done in Production”
  • The Process chemist will partner with contract manufacturers to ensure robust scale-up and manufacture of subcontracted products as well as specs, methods and processes are consistent


  • Coordinating factory bulk pilots, batches and facilitate the manufacture of production bulk within the factory. Maintaining accurate records relating to the validation of development, scaled up and production of safe and legal cosmetics and personal care formulations.
  • Working closely with the Production Manager to coordinate factory line trials. Validating all requirements of production specifications by ensuring appropriate trial design, accurate data recording, effective communication of trial results and implementation of methods/processes to ensure acceptable consistency and quality of filled product.
  • Maintaining a working knowledge of cosmetic regulations, raw materials and innovative production technologies and ensure all products are developed in line with safety and legal guidelines. Implement and communicate changes relating to continuous improvement of bulk manufacture and filling techniques.
  • Provide support for QC and Production Teams, advising and implementing training where necessary.
  • Advise teams about vessel sizes and capabilities to ensure efficient and cost effective and accurate production and planning.
  • Oversee First Production batches in conjunction with the development chemist.
  • Facilitating administration of the feasibility and product specification system.
  • Ensure the accurate transfer of data from development systems to process systems.
  • Review current methods and amend them as deemed necessary

Herbal Extracts Production Assistant

Full Time - 37.5 Hours - Permanent,
Location: Peacemarsh, Gillingham, Dorset


  • Is trained to implement production of all Herbal Tinctures and other extracts produced at the Tincture Unit.
  • The individual is trained to operate Hydraulic press, labeling machine, filling machine, herb cutter, filtering equipment.
  • Individual is required to follow standard operating procedures for each piece of equipment.
  • The individual must have ability to work in orderly manner following the rules and regulations of Good Manufacturing Practice pertaining to In-house standard.
  • Individual will be required to follow standard procedures regarding:
    • hygiene
      • individual will be personally responsible for cleanliness and recording of hygiene procedures
      • ensuring line equipment is clean and fit for use
      • ensuring work area is kept clean, including washing, sweeping, and removing waste
      • ensuring all recyclable materials are recycled and minimizing waste generation
    • GMP guidelines in respect of production and premises, (quality checks and recording)

  • Weekly planning of materials needed for macerating, filtering & bottling of tinctures
  • Sampling of all above mentioned products and sending the sample to the Lab.
  • Reconciliation of all documentation, involved in production of herbal tinctures
  • Keeping all equipment in hygienic condition, sterilizing and washing the maceration vessels.
  • Fresh herb preprocessing when required, including cutting, washing of herb material, sorting.
  • Individual is required to assist in Herb Production Activities. This includes herb cultivation and harvesting in Peacemarsh gardens as well as other harvesting areas including harvesting at Sheepdrove farm.
  • These activities are done under the supervision of Head Gardener and in consultation with Head Herbalist.

Line Leader

Full Time - 37.5 Hours - Permanent

The Line Leader is responsible for delivering the agreed production plan on a daily/weekly basis to the agreed standards of GMP, Quality, Efficiency and Cost.

To agree the Packing plan, execute it and report daily any shortfalls with actions to the Packing Supervisor / Head of Production.

To be a key member of the Junior Management team driving quality, GMP, cost, efficiency and safety.

To drive a continuous improvement theme on the filling and packing line.

To manage, develop, coach and support the Production assistants to ensure a smooth-running operation.


  • To work with the Packing Supervisor to agree an effective and efficient production plan.
  • Ensure awareness and give feedback of the production plan, achieved outputs, targets and quality across the Packing Line.
  • The timely and effective input of data on to the Sage system.
  • To ensure all production documentation is completed in a timely and accurate manner, i.e. daily/weekly reporting and non-conformance for QC.
  • To be a driver of change within the Packing area supporting the Production management team.
  • To have a high degree of input in to the production meetings.
  • Ensuring the adherence to the Neal’s Yard Remedies quality manual with specific reference to product quality, paperwork standards, sampling and GMP standards.
  • To ensure machinery is made available for engineers Planned Preventative Maintenance.
