I have been practicing as a Medical Herbalist since qualifying in 2002, first at Napiers and later at Thuja in Morningside before joining Neal's Yard Remedies is 2012. During my early years of training, I also worked in both the dispensary and clinic reception at Napiers. I am a member of the National Institute of Medical Herbalists.Since qualifying, I have also pursued my other love of teaching through being a tutor at the college of Phytotherapy, and as a lecturer on the Herbal Medicine course at Napier University; encouraging herbal students to become fully fledged Herbalists. I have followed this through with being a Mentor of newly qualified Herbalists with the National Institute of Medical Herbalists.
In my many years of practice, I have seen hundreds of clients with varied conditions. My clients have ranged from the very young to the very old. While giving support with herbs for many different situations, I have a particular interest in female health - looking at PMS, menopause and menstrual cycle related issues.
Initially trained as a Scientist, I have always been fascinated with health and the interactions of modern lifestyle on the individual's well being. Being of a more mature age when I came into Herbal Medicine, I feel that as well as an understanding of health and herbs I have had some of the experiences that life throws at you, which benefits the client. On a personal note I absolutely love cats and share my home with three!
